This is the 17th issue of the WNYMA Inside Line for 2010!

The 2010 Barefoot Racing/ Defiance Lifestyle Apparel (www.barefootMXracing.com) WNYMA season provides the best racing experience in western New York State and beyond! This weekend, we return to the famous AIR MX for a big weekend of practice, school, dinner with movie, and great racing!

If you are a rider that prefers a lot of track time, this is another super weekend for you! Saturday, July 24th, there is a $5 practice from 12 PM to 4 PM! Yes, that’s right, $5 each rider! For those who want to further their motocross education, there is the Ziggy MX School on Saturday, from 11 AM to 5 PM for only $50. Sunday, July 25th, is round #9 of the the tasty Master Seafood presented by Rekluse Total Clutch Solutions WNYMA Summer Series.

This is the last race of the Masters Seafood presented by Rekluse Total Clutch Solutions WNYMA Summer Series. Don’t miss your final chance to make up some points! AIR MX is celebrating this Saturday Night with a “bring a side dish to pass” BBQ and an MX movie under the big tent. The quality family environment and great values for the racer are priorities at AIR MX!

Masters Seafood is well known at our races for a wide variety of quality seafood that can be ordered at and delivered to all WNYMA events! Trackside orders also receive a 10% discount. Remember, a balanced diet, including seafood products, should be a part of every racer’s regimen.

Joe Ellington has resigned from the WNYMA Board of Directors. Joe has been a member of the WNYMA/ WNYSC for 36 years and a WNYMA Board Member for about 20 years. He will continue to be a valuable member of the WNYMA as he explores his new business ventures. We wish him the best of luck and thank him for his many years of membership and service to the WNYMA. Pete Wise has been serving as an alternate board member and will take Joe's vacant position.

This year, the Summer Series is only 9 races to make room in the fall for the new Kings and Queens of Moto Pro Am (KOMPA) Series. You won’t want to miss a single race this summer to keep your points up and to prepare for KOMPA. KOMPA awards will be going back to 10th place with real trophies and no minimum number of required races!

The first ever KOMPA series kicks off August 1st at Miles Mountain MX. This is also the 1st race of the Fall Series. Get ready for another action packed weekend because it is also the Miles Mountain tradition, “Mayhem at the Mountain”. BMX, Freestyle and Trials Bike thrill shows will all be a part of this unprecedented KOMPA opener!

KOMPA series races will utilize the pro points formula of 25 possible points per moto. One Industries is supplying riding gear sets to the top finisher in each class. Dunlop Tires is on board with tires going to each class winner! Please stay tuned for more information about the many different sponsors and various prizes. This is going to be a great year!

We’ve been told that our new class structures are providing the perfect balance of efficiency, class selection and much riding time for our members. Our new Vet and +40 Masters classes are especially receiving rave reviews. Riders of all ranks can run for money, trophies or track bucks. It is your choice. Also, the WNYMA has recognized the CRF150 4 stroke mini as being on level playing ground with all 85cc 2 stroke minis, keeping the young ones happy! The WNYMA was the first organization in this area to adopt these policies requested by our members.

WNYMA Board of Directors meetings are open to all active WNYMA members. They meet on the 2nd Monday of every month. The next meeting is August 9th at 6:00 PM at the Super 8 Motel on Lehigh Station Rd., Henrietta, NY. All members are encouraged to attend and to participate.

We are an association of riders run by the riders. The WNYMA Board of Directors consists of mostly top expert riders. Many have children who race. They live and breathe motocross racing. The WNYMA/ WNYSC has been setting the standard for motocross in western New York since 1974!

Did you know that the WNYMA Board Members are your elected Riders Representatives? The WNYMA operates with democratic principles by allowing the members to vote for all individuals who serve on the Board of Directors.

Please check out MXPTV for photos and videos of the big Northeast Spring Championship at AIR MX.
